Possible setup??

Right now I have a Kenwood Kdc-217 headunit. and A. Single channel 300watt amp Hooked up to a Kicker comp 12. My friend just got Some new equipment for his truck and he is going todo some major off roading and he needs to get rid of his subs and amps. No matter what I am going to by them because of the deal he is giving me because we are friends. But the set up he is giving me is. 2. 12" Kicker compvx. And 2 seperate Planet Audio TT850D amps.

My old headunit only has 1 set of pre-outs. So the question is. Is there some type of splitter. Or someway to supply power and signal 2 both amps. Or do I have to buy a new headunit with 2 sets of preouts.

Each amp should have a set of RCA outs and RCA ins...u just have to run one RCA cable from the head unit to the In RCA on one amp and then run another RCA cable from the out on that amp to the RCA in on the other amp. If that makes sense.

most amps that I have seen do not have RCA outputs. You can get a set of rca Y-cables, they split one input to two out outs.

That should be the setup of the TT850D. Run one set of RCA cables from the headunit to the input of one amp, and then run another set of RCAs from the output of that amp into the input of the second amp.

oh, ok .... that's not a normal setup. So are these amps strapable, if not what is the data link for ?

yeah, must be strappable, has master/slave switch too.

do you not have an owners manual for these amps ?

Dunno Im buying them from a friend and I dont Know if he has them. Ill ask asap. But I was asking you if you could help me tweak it cause Im NOt really sure what all the lil knobs do.

LIke paul said y-splitters radio shack gold series $5 each.

AS for the power they have distribution blocks just make sure the power kit you get can handle the power you throw at it RMS not peak.
