Can anyone please list to me the problems they had with their 2002 accent from miles 30,000 - 55,000. Please list miles and cost to repair. I was wondering if it was worth extending my warranty. thanks!

I was wondering if it was worth extending my warranty. thanks! i am resubmitting my response-i think first time did not go through. i had no problems 30k to 55k.i did not change timing belt at 60k,it went at 67k.i bent 3 valves.i pulled head and had machine shop put 3 new ones in.it ran fine,i changed the belt then at about 120k,ran well, engine blew at 152k,i pulled the head and 2 valves embedded in pistons.something let loose, like a timing belt but it only had 33k.maybe one of the valves let loose this time.i am looking for a junkyard engine to replace because i really liked this accent.the only other problem was the clutch master cylinder went at about 100k.i replaced it,not a hard job either.it is a 2002 accent 1.5 litre,5 speed.so change your timing belt at 60k and you should be fine.if it is a stick shift and fails the shift properly, clutch master cyllinder is culprit.for an inexpensive car,it did well.

Right now I have a 2002 Accent and the main problem that has gone wrong witht he car before this past incident is that there was a bolt which held the alternator in place which snapped due to a poorly placed weak spot on the car resulting in the entire load being put onto a specific area of the bolt which then snapped when the car hit a pothole.
Past that there has been a couple issue regarding the electical system of late the most notable being that there has been a short in the ECU (pulled fuses/used voltmeter to check this) and I have no idea where to go with that one and the cost to just get it into a shop is high to say the least.
