I have a 93 Sunbird. 2.0 ltr. Auto Tranny. When i turn over the key I get absolutely nothing. I know the battery is good and voltage is being received down to the solenoid when the key is turned over. I figured it was the starter so I went ahead and replaced that but to no avail. :banghead: On the starter itself there is a support bracket that i did not put back on. Could that possibly be the problem?? Would that be the ground or does it just ground thru the mounting bolts??? Any help here would be had..

Are you saying, with the key turned to crank, the small purple wire at the starter solenoid is hot? It should be. Usually, when I replace a starter, I replace the solenoid as well.

When your under the vehicle testing the solenoid, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the E-brake is set.

Is there a load on the circuit, when you turn the key to crank. You can watch the headlites, with the key in the crank position. You can put volt meter leads across the battery posts, turn the key to crank, take a reading.

If you think it is a ground issue, you might run a battery cable from the starter housing to the neg battery post. See if it helps.
