Heres my problem. I have this chip on my key. Almost everytime i want to start my car, i cant because this little anoying chip doesnt read my computer or something. So i have to wait 2-10 mins before i can start it up. Does anyone know why this is happening, if not, is there a way of fixing this? Besides waiting...I kno 2-10 mins doesnt seem like a long time but trust me it gets anoying.

Year??

You will need to take the key to the dealership along with your VIN number.
You can get a ohm resistor that reads the same as the key...and put it inline with the VATS line under the dash.

Most problems with VATS not operating properly can be traced back to the ignition lock cyclinder.
There are 2 tiny white wires that connect to it to read the key resistance. over time the back and fourth movement of turning the key on and off, the wires will develop a small crack in the insulation right where they enter the lock cylinder. The only fix that will keep your VATS in proper operation is to replace the lock cylinder. The other alternative is to bypass VATS as Mr Luos said.
