Okay I sold my malibu and I am now in the process of buying headers but I wanted your guys opion on best price/performace. I am pretty sure I will be doing long tubes now since this car is going to be my daily driver I probably wont lower it (and I heard clearance issues with the car lowered and longtubes). I want headers and Y pipe to still be emmisions legal, Washington is pretty anal about that

For the quality and price, pacesetters is very popular.

Since you have some of those how is the fitment, I have heard the Pacesetters have bad fitment issues when you try to bolt them up?

nearly all pacesetter I have seen have issue's with contacting the steering linkage. Which really sucks but nothing some light denting can't fix and for the price they flow very well. Hookers also sometimes contact though. I would recommend pacesetter and a good hammer but don't go crazy or you will restrict flow to that cylinder by caving in the exhaust tube.

More questions,
Are there emissions legal longtube headers?
What else is needed to install, I keep hearing about sensor extensions that I will need. How about bolts and gaskets are those typically included in the kit? Here is the kit I am looking at http://www.performancecenter.com/product.page/Exhaust+%26+Headers/Headers/0/0/0/BBK15670/Pontiac/1994/Firebird/5.7L
It looks like that kit comes with the Y pipe, so that will go exactly where the factory one was?

You will need gasket's cause most long tubes come with paper gaskets that will just burn out or blow out. Get some metal one's (copper , aluminum or whatever metal). Alot of people buy bolts as well of higher quality than is included but the one's that come with most sets are of satifactory quality to be used for the first install. Also, yes there are emission legal long tubes. You just have to make sure they have the previsions for the egr and air pump.
Edit- also it connects to the cat in the factory location.

Luckily for me, my pacesetter's didn't even come close to the steering linkage. Fitment was pretty good, but the EGR provision didn't line up right and I have a small leak there, but I am going to block it off when the weather warms up. And one of the primaries on the passenger side header comes in contact with the bellhousing of the tranny. Not a big deal, but sometimes you can hear it vibrate when the car is in reverse. Other than that, I'm pleased with the pacesetter's for overall quality and price. So if you don't have emissions, go with the off-road headers. But seeing that you need emissions fittings, I guess you'll have to get the emissions headers.
But those BBK headers you linked to look like shorties.
