I know two people who use the turbo kit for the h22 on their h23, they said it bolts right up with no problems

high performance valves, springs, and retainers

aftermarket cams will stress those parts and wear them faster than stock

BS...they do not line up, unless you cut the flange off and reweld the right one on there. UNLESS you put the H22 head on the H23 block, because the manifold bolt to the HEAD
And like he said, Valves, valves springs, valve retainers, cams, and it wouldn't hurt to port and polish.

If u change cams, you need to make sure the valves aren't going to hit the pistons, since performance cams have lobes that have more peak to them, the valves will be pushed out further and stay open longer. Can't just slap cam shafts onto the head and new valve springs with shims to fix it. Since your'e thinking about turbo charging, look in the market for new pistons, rods and crank shaft, bearings also while the engine is out get new core plugs for the block, real cheap to get and well worth it. Also lap the valves since that's off too so that it'll be less likely that you'll have a cylinder leak.

and if you're gonna do cams, don't get N/A cams, make sure you get turbo cams if you're going turbo. If you do N/A cams on a turbo'd engine, the valve over laps blow out pressure, and you lose powa...
