That looks more like a qualifying pace to me, the Vipers are fast cars in that racing, he didn't look like he was pushing it, maybe doing a tire warm up lap... in qualifying nobody goes as fast as they can. Plus side to the GT-R is that it's AWD and can survive out there with cold tires or worn tires with a better chance of being fast due to control... in theory.
Not to talk down on the AF race team cause I am good friends with Igor personally, but last season some of Igor's best times where mid pack during qualifying, and the actual race times he was 20+ seconds behind in some cases. Obviously they had bugs to work out the first season, hopefully the second time around they'll have it all sorted and be even more competitive.
The second season for them I hope to see them finishing in the 10th-15th place. Third season, I hope to see them in the top 10.
You folks have to realise he's going up against veterans of the series, and of other racing backgrounds. So, using a unheard of car for this type of racing and being fresh to the scene, we can't expect him to just jump out there and be competitive.

that is some great footage. i never thought the most feared corner in all of North America was that crazy. just watching Igor drive through it makes me realize how tight it really is. now that corner scares me lol.

yea, i saw that, but i dont recall showing the turn within the drivers seat or so. its just the outside of the car. it doesn't look that steep when outside the car.
