Hey all...
Anyone experience issues with the fuel guage?
I have a 2005 XL and today filling up from just under half a tank, the guage registered ok until the tank was full then it bottomed out as if someone pulled the plug on the gas tank and drained it dry.
It's been reading irratically since.
Is this a dealer fix? It is under warranty with 30k on the odometer.
Thanks

Just a follow up.
Dealer replaced the fuel sending unit under warranty.
Since then, it is back at the dealer. The fuel lines must not have been reconnected properly. The line popped off and stranded me on single digit temp with the wife and 11 yr old.
I might have had a heads-up with the abnormally strong smell of gas when I got the vehicle back. But there was no puddling. I thought there might have been some over-spill during the repair.
The good was the GMC roadside service. They arranged pick-up easily. Recommend having the cars vin handy.

Hmm... Interesting. The 2005+ 4.2's use a new style returnless, pulse width modulated FSU. Totally different than the 2002-2004's. I'm wondering if this service dept just isn't familiar with the newer setup? With less lines and hardware, I would think this setup would be easier to r/r than the older.
