okay i was wondering if its possible to bore a 1.5 to a 1.6? is the 1.5l engine block the same size as the 1.6 only with a smaller bore? i have this idea to just completely bang out the standard to its fullest of its potential.. or jus swap it out for a d16z6/y8. but i ask cause i know someone who can do this for me at a very good price granted that its possible and would even be worth the hassle. if so i would it be as simple as puting on an si head, wiring in the vtec, installing si rods and pistons, switching from dpfi to mpfi and swapping in the si tranny. has anyone here tried to max out a std?:ylsuper

it really depends on how serious you are. your std can run a 12 sec 1/4 mi. on a junkyard turbo and not nearly as expensive as you would imagine!
the difference between std and si? the cam has a slightly different grind, MPFI, 0.1L, and the tranny. no, tranny doesn't give you hp...but the better gears help. so then there is the cam grind. that isn't big enough to make much of a difference. the 0.1L...that small amount speaks for it's self. so what makes the big difference? MPFI...it is what makes the huge difference.
i'm sick of preaching about the 88dx who won battle of imports with a 12.31 sec pass at 112 mph. so hit 88CiViC_DX up, he read the article (for the most part).

She is referring to a turbo system that you piece together yourself from parts of off other cars found in junkyards. Problem with this is you need to know what you need in the first place. And there is usually custom fabrication involved. But if you can do it, its fun to have a cheap turbo system.

where can i get more information on something like this, the junkyard turbo i mean? like which turbos i can use and all parts needed and etc... if its a low cost type of thing it sounds like it would be fun til i get the funds for a swap.. because my car needs some serious go!!! like maybe a 240hp rear wheel drive f20c and 6 speed tranny from an s2000...mmm dual exhaust and all!! ya that'd be fun. when i win the lottery
