2005 Town & Country Disc brake tool

Hi, I was in the process of changing my disc brake pads on my 2005 Town & Country 3.8. But after I got the wheel off I see that they have changed the pins that hold the calipers on. It looks like it needs an allen wrench to loosen the pins. I have tried a 1/4 in allen wrench, but it feels a little small. A 5/16 is definetly to big.

So then I tried metric sizes, the 8mm is to small and the 10mm is to big. I have gone to Auto Zone in hopes that they may sell the tool I need. But they claim that they don't even sell replacement pins for that year.

I also went to my local Chrysler Dealers parts department asking if they sold the tool needed to remove the pin, and they said they don't stock or sell that tool. Can anyone help me out on this. Thanks for any help you can give. Ives

It is a 7mm hex.You can get that size hex socket from Sears or any auto parts store

Thanks wafrederick, you were right. Got it at Auto Zone. Had a young girl wait on me the first time I was there. She must have been new. Because I went back today and found it and it fits a 3/8 socket drive. Thanks again Ives

I have to add this little bit of imformation about the 7mm Hex tool. Don't bother to buy a regular set of Metric Hex wrenchs, because the 7mm in a regular set of mMetric Hex Wrenches is different than 7mm that I finally bought.

I know what your thinking 7mm is 7mm. I thought so too, that's why I didn't find it the first time I went looking for it. What you want to look for is a 7mm Disc Brake Caliper Socket. I bought the 3/8 drive one. I don't know how they came up with it being 7mm, because it is larger than a 7mm in a regular Metric hex wrench set.
