99 kia sportage 4dr 4wd auto. Got gas dripping from off what i call skid plate, assuming got a hole or a leak. Is it possible to remove skidplate with out removing tank to check for holes or whatever. Thanks:banghead:

Welcome to AF.
Tank and plate seems to have to come down as a whole.

I'll check with others and come back with results...
You can register (free) at www.kiatechinfo.com and get lots of info. Kia had tried 2 years ago to cut free access but had to cope with owner's protest.

UPDATE:
Dave Scott at 4x4wire.com said: :"no, well, yes, but you have to unbolt them both and fanagle the skidplate out from underneath it. they are sandwiched together by the bolts."

Thanks for the reply, is it possible that there is a loose hose or something causing this leak as it slows when the pressure lessons on the tank. I looked on the kiatech site and it says there is a access panel in the back of the trk. But wheni open the back door like it saays it is just the jack compartment there no access to the fuel pump. AM I MISSING SOMETHING. Thanks again.:screwy:

THe access panel to the top of fuel tank is under the folding right back seat.
