I need to know how to adjust my hand break... for now its catching but, my leaver goes all the way up before it engages in the emergency breaks. How do i remove the back drums.. do i need to bang them out.. can somone give me some simple tips on how too. ??

There might be a peep hole on the other side of the drum where you can get a brake spoon into and adjust the rear brakes that way. If not, the drums may come off without banging them off, then again they might need some persuasion. I like taking the drums off to adjust the brakes because you can also take care of the rust lip that works its way i-onto the drum.

thanks for the reply... i never knew there might be a small opening at the back of the drum to make the adjustment.. ill give that a try.
thanks:)

ok well i did the adjustment by removing the drums... was very easy really.. Now the thing is that when i bang out the second one.. (which I shouldnt have :shakehead )... a small piece of rust broke off.. on the outside part which was a little rusted all around. I put it back just the same. Do you think that little piece of rust that broke off can be dangerous.. Next time ill use a rubber hammer..duh!!

As lond as it wasn't where the shoes made contact with the drum, you should be alright.
Did your handbrake tighten up though?

Hi and yes my handbrake tightened up enough... now it engages at about the fifth click.. before it was way to high.. and also i noticed my brake pedal is higher too. So everything works fine..
The small rust piece that broke off was very small, like the size of a cigarette butt. I thought it was going to throw off the wheel, but the car went great on the highway.. I thought it was going to change the wheel balance, but it didnt. My car has now close to 53000 kms.. so i found it strange in a way that a piece of rust broke off. ..
