2000 Sonoma 4.3 auto 4x4. 160,000 miles. 1st happened last night backing out of a parking spot while turning the ABS light came on. It then went out for a few miles till I slow to a crawl and only while turning the light comes back on & the ABS pump comes on to cause the pulses in the brake pedal. about 100' later the ABS light goes out. Then after truck sits a while The light comes on when 1st starting the truck but eventually goes back off until I brake slow into a corner.
I have already checked wiring to the front sensors and unplugged the 2 front sensors then plugged them back in just to check for a loose connection. Speed sensor plug in the tranny looked although I just wiggled it and did not unplug it yet. I plan to pull the rotors and take a look see at the sensors themselves. I did replace the front wheel hubs about 1-1/2 years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This should be checked using an abs function scanner to look at codes and wheel speed sensor inputs for a proper diagnosis.

Thanks MaxWedge,
Some more info or description I can provide with my ABS problem:
When the ABS light illuminates the Brake warning light does not come on as it did with my son's s10 (His problem was the VSS). Also when stopping straight the ABS light does not come on and works properly. But it does activate that I can feel in the brake pedal at speeds slower than 5 mph while turning the steering wheel. The ABS light also comes one when I back up while braking. I didn't think the ABS was supposed to activate at speeds below 15 MPH. I don't have a ABS function scanner. I hate to take this to a dealer. Dealer in my area is a crook..............

Problem fixed & Thanks anyhow.
Turned out to be one front sensor wire I found with the insulation cut. The metal strain relief that secures the sensor wire to the upper control arm cut into the wire as the wire bends each time the wheel is turned all the way. I respliced & soldered the broken wire and replaced the steel strain relief with a plastic one.
