Climate control resets itself

Hi, I have a 1998 Bravada. The climate control resets itself at (seemingly) random intervals. I haven't seen this listed as a common problem, but thought I would check in case it is and I have missed it or if anyone has any ideas on what to check.

Basically, I turn the car on and set it how I want, everything is fine. After a while, it will totally shut off (like it loses power), the blower totally stops, etc. Then it will come back on (with A/C light on).

It gets really annoying always pressing the A/C button to turn it off - does it normally come on by default when you start the vehicle? Oh yes, and I do not have it set to "auto", this happens when I manually set it where I want...

Thanks in advance!

I haven't found anything in the '97 manual on Climate Control yet, I'll keep looking.

After you set it on automatic and do not touch anything does it work good?

If there is a problem with it a good engine /body/HAVC capable scanner will show codes and point you you the problem.

Also I would check power feed and grounds.
And make sure R-134A and operating pressure is not low.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
