I have a 96' Sunfire and was wondering if there is a companythat makes a turbo kit for that year.

I'm sure there is one and if not, just build one....it isn't terribly hard and it will save you money to do it yourself

www.hahnracecraft.com

there were a couple other companies that did them, but are no longer in business. Piecing one together is cheaper in the long run.

mileage doesn't matter...the condition of the engine is the determining factor. One of my buddies in Fargo boosted his 212,xxx mile D series Civic. It was a monster, but it lasted because the engine was well maintained. Do a compression and leakdown test to find out the condition its in...

usually mileage tells the engine life expentency and for the most part, how strong or weak an engine is....

you usually dont want to turbo a car that has alot of miles on it, esspecially if you arnt the origional owner...you have no idea what the person before you did

i agree, but if you were to do a compression and leakdown test, you would have a great idea of what was done to the engine and know what it is capable of...I can tell you first hand that mileage doesn't mean a thing, it is the engine's condition. I was skeptical when Matt (my buddy) was building his manifold and dp for his 212,xxx mile D15, but regardless of the mileage, it was a monster when it was done!

Ok i was a little vague with my story i guess....

Matt bought the car w/ 210,xxx on it. He drove it for a little while and then decided that it was going to be his new project and since he runs a shop, it isn't hard to build turbo parts for it for little money. He boosted it and ran it for most of the summer. He then took the setup off because one of our buddies wanted to buy it from him. The car is now stock again, but is getting a fully built and sleeved 84mm GSR engine and a whole bunch of turbo goodies.....

The car runs just fine now, even after being boosted. It is his winter car at the moment because his S2000 doesn't like snow. Here are a few pics of it just for fun...i found them on my photobucket account and had to post them
