Hello, I have seen a few postings on this but I haven't seen and resolutions to this problem. The Wind Noise from the front doors is unbelievable!.. obviously the top of the door is pulling away at speeds around 65 or higher.

The Windshield ticking/crackling noise seems to be on the passenger side and starts around 30mph.

I do have a bug shield on this truck and will remove it to try and stop the ticking.. does anyone know how to stops these problems?.. I am considering those rain/weather guards over the windows to see if that puts anymore pressure on the door to stop the wind noise.. Good this the Radio is loud!..

Thanks for any ideas.....jp

Bending the door window frames in to tighten the seal is the typical *fix* for wind noise. It does help some. Popping noise from the front could be the bug deflector slapping against the hood, or the hood needing the rubber bump stops threaded out a bit, I've had those being the cause on several trucks. Rain guards do help some, as does removing the roof rack cross rails. I've also sealed up gaps in the exterior weathersripping with black silicone to seal out wind noise. All that & i've still driven quieter cargo vans!:iceslolan Still like the TB though.

Thanks for the Tips.. The Ticking seems to be coming from where the Dash and Windshield meet.. but I will check the Mounts and remove the Bug Shield..

When you bend the door, do you recommend having the Window in the up position? or down?..

Also, have you ever felt road vibrations through the Gas Pedal?..

Same here, but I have no bug shield and the rubber things seem to be almost all of the way up.

rollthe window down before bending the door, makes it a lot easier. I haven't felt any vibration in my TB, I also have alot of wind noise coming from "1" rear door and thats it. the other doors are fine, unfortunately where my wind is coming in i cant bend the door that direction though. I do feel vibration at highway speeds through the floor also and also have that ticking on the right side dash/windshield area. Any other ideas what could be causing it to vibrate and make the ticking noise.

JP,
I have discovered the windshield ticking/creaking noise is the weather-strip that runs vertically from the hood to the roof. The air gets under the strip at the lower end and can lift it away from the glass. It can be fixed by gently raising the weather-strip away from the glass and running a bead of silicone under the strip before lowering back down into place. I took me almost 2 years to figure this out and was driving me nuts!

Thanks Doug.. looks like that worked!.. I actually did this a long time ago but never came back to update, I wasn't sure if it had something to do with the winter weather in Minnesota.... Thanks again!....jp

Hey guys.....instead of bending my doors, I used some inexpensive adhesive weatherstripping to seal them better. Just apply it along the top and down the front side up under the factory weatherstrip. It looks factory, and really helped with the noise. When the door shuts, it compresses the weatherstrip nicely to seal up.

Jp,
Glad that worked. You are correct that the noise is more apparent in cold weather.
All of you guys & gals are aussem. It is amazing how much knowledge everyone has collected. Wonder if anyone from GM reads these?
