This is my new project:

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_001%7E3.jpg

A Fujimi VW Golf MK3 gti.

And a ''in the box'' picture:
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_002%7E3.jpg

I'm not gonna build this one OOB but it will be a clean-style golf. Which is very populair in Germany, Belgium and Netherland.

First thing I changed were the mirrors. I changed them for some rally (impreza) versions.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_004%7E2.jpg

I wanted to make it a bit like this photoshop golf:
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/golf_3.JPG

So I searched for the Porsche wheels:
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_005%7E2.jpg

How they fit:

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_007%7E1.jpg

Things I want to change:

-clean frontbumper
-clean rearbumper
-shave doorhandles
-clean sidelists
-clean thrunk
-Porsche wheels
-mirrors
-black frontlights

So I used some Milliput and Tamiya putty to clean this car:

:)

Me and my brother are real Golf fans. :smokin: My brother is an expert of VW Golfs. :D

Your job is on the right way to build a cleaned car. I can't wait to see it finished!

Do you want to paint it white like in your reference picture?

I also really like the Golf. Especially the Mk1 of course :)
I think a Vw ore something must be cleaned and not like the import style with big wings and other plastic sh*t :D Just simple and clean!

And yes I think I'll paint this one white with some pearl clear. The interior should be black with aluminium details.

From the photoshop I don't like the rims but seeing them against the black plastic I really like them :icon16: but am not sure about it being white though. Can't wait to see more progress.

Why are you removing body details?

Why are you removing body details?

These are not necessary :) Take a look @ these pics and you see what cleaned style is.

Last days I became crazy. Sanding....putty....sanding... putty :banghead:

But finally I got a great result :) A nice clean MK3 stands on my desk :sunglasse

For the pics I primed it and putted the vr-6 frontlip on it.

This week I'll sand it waterproof 1000 and prime it again and I hope to make time to paint the body in pure white :)

Nice mk3, i really like the stubby mirrors. I plan on puttin stubby ones on my 1:1. Nice start on the body, and also can't go wrong with porsche wheels on Z VeeDuB.

Looking real nice. There's about to be a set of these cars showing up here, I've got one coming and I know of one other. Those Porsche wheels look great and will be perfect. I really like that you've shaved the handles, reshaped the bumpers and changed the mirrors. You've got a really cool car coming along. I wish I'd looked before painting mine - there are a few mods I could've done to make it look cooler. Yours is awesome.

Because the cleaning job wasn't smooth enough I puttied the front and back again.

I also searched for new tyres for the C2 wheels because the tyres are a bit to wide so they everytime fall of :banghead:

No result.... None of the tyres will get around these wheels....

So I searched for new wheels! From a Lambo Diablo I found these wheels. They were only a way to wide :screwy: So I removed a bit of the wheels and fitted them on new tyres.

This is German-style :D

looks nice
but I don't like the idea of stagered wheels, it's very unproportional for this car

I primed the body again and this time it's good.

The paint wil be racing white from Tamiya and looks very cool I think :)

I also painted the heart of the rims in black. I love this wheels. My other Mk3 will get the Porsche wheels when I've found some other tyres for it.

Just have to make the mirrors nice on the body and than I'll paint it.

Last week I painted the body in Racing White... Again strange spots came vissable at the thrunk.

So I puttied again and this time I used Tamiya putty. Now it's really clean! And I hope to paint it again next saturday :)

I also made a badgeless grille, and painted it flat black. Also the vr6 lip is painted flat black.

Yesterday I painted the body in Racing White (tamiya)

I forgot to remove the grille but after the paintjob it made me think. Leave the bodycolour on it or paint it again but this time in flat back????

What do you like?

If you keep the VR6 lip in black I would also paint the grill black, to keep a kind of harmony. Just my :2cents:

I say go with a white VR6 lip and a white grille. I love it either way.

Finally I got a new update :)

I started with the interior. Kept it basic in black and the other colour is Duck Egg Blue. I only added a sport steeringwheel.
It's not finished as you can see, I'll add some interiorflocks in it and maybe some speakers etc.

I also painted the windowtrims on the body and polished it a few times:

Thanks for feedback!

I finished the interior few days ago. I added some interiorflocks and mounted all the interiorparts.
