Does the pintle on the EGR move up and down? Did you clean the EGR tube?
What brand of plug do you have in the truck?

A new set of plugs and wires will usually fix a p0300 code. Unless you have coil-on-plug in which case just plugs.

You'll need to REALLY clean that EGR, like 4-5 times probably depending how bad it is and if your over 80k without ever having cleaned it, you can bet it's REAL dirty. Clean the valve AND the EGR tube.
Also clean your throttle body.
I don't suggest just buying a new EGR valve as that generally does not solve the problem.
