Dome light wont go off

I keep slamming the door shut and the dome light will not go off i am not sure what else to do at this point. I s there a sensor that can effect that?

take the door switch out if this is an older truck

Is your door ajar light on too? I think this is a common problem on the 97 and up trucks. On fords, i think theres a microswitch in the door latch mechanism which is activated when the striker bolt closes the latch. Try spraying it good with wd40 or something similar, open and close it a few times and repeat, see if it helps. Wont hurt anything to try it.

yes the light is on i sprayed wd-40 on it today we will see what happens thanks for the info
