PCV valve removal?

i believe its called the pressure control valve. it connects from my valve cover to my intake. =/ plz dont bash me if i got it wrong... :uhoh:
anyways, i was wondering if its possible to disconnect it and replace it with a breather. or is the intake forcing air into the engine?


well, i guess my question is... do i really need the hose going from my valve cover to my intake?

Your PCV valve isn't on your valve cover, it is in the intake manifold itself. There isn't a valve on the valve cover, just a hose running to the intake tube. I have seen people just remove the hose and put a little breather filter on there. I don't know the pros and cons of it.

Leave it. It's there for a reason. It is PART of the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system. It not only relieves pressure from the oil pan, but it supplies oil to the intake tube/manifold which helps trap incoming dirt.
