Did you fail?

My friend is worried and I'll admit I did, but who failed their permit/license test the first time?

She needs statistics. If you are ashamed to admit, then that's what the poll is for! :D

Not sure what the tests are like in the US but I passed both my learners and provisionals first time.

I passed my full car licence first time (you didn't need a learners licence and only motorcyclists had provisional licences in those days). It was a month after my 15th birthday and I was Fourth Former.

I also passed my Class 2 and Class 4 Heavy Truck Licences first time too. (I should have I'd been driving them for a while before I got the licences).

Class 2 is a rigid heavy truck from 3.5 Tonnes to 15 Tonnes

Class 4 is an articulated heavy truck to 15 Tonnes and a rigid heavy truck from 15 Tonnes upwards (effectively this goes up to 42 Tonnes which is the heaviest rigid truck you can legally drive on road without being a special vehicle).

Well I passed my Learners first time with 100%, then managed to fail the full license road test. I was driving down a narrow street with parked cars down each side when someone came the other way going to fast.
I moved to the left, not enough to hit anything, but enough to get out of the way of the idiot comeing the other way.
The tester was an old prick with a reputation for being a prick and panicked and grabed the wheel.
He then said test over, you failed.
He later admitted that he didnt need to grab the wheel, but simply becasue he did it ment I failed.
The guy was a real wanker, and failed several of my friends as well, all for silly reasons.

My Class 2 HT (see Reps post) I however passed faultlessly. Including another 100% on the learners part. (I did an NZQA course, so we did learners, restricted and full in 2 days)

Passed without any problems...

Certain people have a tendency to get all worked up over a "test"... They just hear the word and start stressing out. Usually what happens is that they study so much or freak out enough that they just end up confusing themselves and end up failing (or doing poorly). It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy (Oh no! I'm gonna fail! and then boom: they fail).

Fortunately, I've never had a problem with that.

I got one wrong in my learners test- I wasn't worried- it was some shit about headlights- So I passed that first time

I am going for my provisional (Restricted) on Fribay 18 October I should have done it last Friday- but check my thread in the Stress release forum to see why I didn't:mad:

Well I passed all my 3 tests easily.

I got one wrong on my learners as I didn't read the questions.

My restricted I passed easily, and the full test was easy too.

As long as you practice the tests are easy to pass.

I got all my answers correct also, but if you miss one, you fail.

I got 95% first try in the written test. (You must get 80% to pass.) The question I missed was one of those ones that is SOOO easy you think it's a trick question..and get it wrong.

On the driving test, I got marked down for "running a red" on an intersection where there should have been a protected right turn because there was NO POSSIBLE WAY for any other traffic to be using that lane besides me. I was nervous and the guy in front of me turned without stopping so I did too.

That’s the problem with licence tests. It’s the same over here. Some of the questions are so damn easy you would swear that they were a trick.

In NZ if you get less than 32 of the 35 questions right then you fail:D

failed mine first time, and it was just before the written tests were introduced......

now they are even thinking of bringing out another test along, where they get you in a virtual reality gear to check how good you are at spotting oncoming dangers...
