Couple of electrical problems

Recently the driver's door handle popped loose on my '03 Alero. I took off the door panel and fixed it but when I put everything back together the interior door lock button didn't work. I'm assuming I just didn't get it clipped in all the way but before I take it all back apart again I was wondering if anyone thought the problem might be something else.
Also, about a year ago my rear defrost quit working. I tried everything; the relay is good, the fuse is good, I get a voltage at the terminals and I get continuity across the defrost unit itself. I decided that I didn't really need a rear defrost but the problem has been really bothering me since I'm supposed to understand electronics. The only thing I can still think of would be a short somewhere between the relay and the window that's bleeding off all the current but checking all that wiring would be crazy. Anyone see this before?

Welcome to AF !
On the door,
are you talking about the the electric button,
or the knob on the doorhandle?
If its the elec button check the plug connector, and make sure its securly pluged in.
Thier is a rod that goes to the doorhandle that might be off.
On your Defrost,
Double check the wires acrossed the window as if thier is a break it will not complete the circuit or work.
But you said it had continuity, so that would lead me to believe the relay or fuse is bad.
Good Hunting

I don't know about the door lock problem but I've had experience with the rear defroster. If you take the trim panel off the passenger rear pillar there is a little black box. I have no idea what it does but mine had a little melt down. I took it apart, cleaned it up and resoldered a couple connections and the defroster works like a champ now. Maybe that's what's wrong with yours.
