What fluid type is used for the transfer case?

Thanks for the reply,I thought maybe there might be a substitute other than using the GM stuff.

I know what you mean but sometimes the factory stuff addresses the needs of our parts better than anyone else...I'm gonna need to change the synthetic lube in the trans$$$$ in my diesel truck and since the trans is not being made anymore and parts are getting scarce, my trans expert sez' "get the factory stuff...they did the R&D".
