New video of "Slowass"

Just got it done.
Might want to 'right click, save as.' 50 mb
http://www.knighthawkproductions.com/mrluos/January.wmv
And for reference...It makes the power on the dyno but the track times don't add up to that power.
Dyno corrects, track doesn't. I race at 5800 feet. Most here know that, just covering the bases.
Host isn't the fastest so I will try to get a lower quality version hosted soon.

Nice video.
I wonder how long a set of tires lasts for you. It can't be more than a few thousand miles with that many burnouts.

the host isnt bad. im getting the video in about a minute or so. gettin it at 600kbs or so.
nice video. i mean NICE. i think he got the right car for himself. burnout happy, fully weighted car, at will outrun almost all cars on the street these days. i just wanted to know what kind of camera do you use for your videos, since if i do one, it doesn't turn out that well quality wise.

I have a Sony, but for most of that footage I used a Canon.
Also...only one of those burnouts was done on tires that I paid for. Had a friend that was working on discount tire and he would keep an eye out for used tires that would fit.

Ahh I see you have the larger diamiter primaries kooks headders, I'm thinking of getting a C5 and looked into those thinking I would go back and get them once I have the car. And we both use MSD wires, great minds think alike?
Mr. Luos
01-09-2007, 07:21 PM
I wouldn't recommend the larger primaries on a stock LS1.
1 3/4" will be more than enough.

Whats the reasoning behind that, think I know but want to make shure.

A reasonably stock LS1 can't flow enough to use that large of a header, you need some back pressure for it to run right. Putting too big of a diameter header can actually hurt performance.
If you're running a big setup like Luos is, then bigger primarys will help. Since he's pumping a lot of air through.

Yup.
I am barely pushing enough to utilize them myself.
1 3/4" primaries will flow enough for over 500 to the wheels.
I actually probably loose a touch of power down low because of them. A stock'ish' LS1 would most likely loose a good amount down low and not gain anything over a 1 3/4" up top.

Nice video. I have one question though it might stupid to you all but i was curious, how does one power brake and change gears while burning out?

01-11-2007, 05:16 PM
Luos has lockers in the front correct? Otherise if you are good enough, you can work the clutch and brake at the same time.

The gas pedal as well? Do you hold your foot sideways on the brake and clutch? Or do you hold your foot on the brake and gas at the same time, that makes sense... I think.

Line Lock, it's a brake bias booster, it turns off the rear brakes and keeps the fronts locked, so you can do a decent burn out.
Popular amoung drag racers and burnout queens... just keeps the car from rolling forward, less worry.
