Anyone actually weighed their cars? I'm not talking about the stripped down ultra-racer cars but the normal DD's.

I read on VFAQ that the stock weight of a 1g is 3100 or so. I can't seem to believe that considering a stock weight of a convertable Cobra is 3300. It seems far fetched that the weight is so close. I have seen many a video of 1g's tearing other cars a new ass with minimal mods. I would like to know if anyone has weighed their car.

When mine was at the emissions place running on the 'dyno' they weigh the car too. It was 3200 lbs IIRC. WAYYYYYYY to heavy. That's why my car sucks in a rolling race.

I was told a 1g AWD is around 3050...

that seem off. On the door of my car it says that the gross weight is 4087lbs. I went and did the the inspection people said 3600. Then i read on this forum some time ago that the 2g weighs 50 lbs more than the 1g so. I'm going to just go witht the 3600 its somewhere in the middle of the other two.

3100 lbs thats great to bad im not completely stock anymore. Well what can you do.. so im going to say mine is problay 3300 with the other things that have been done to my car. Maybe 3450 with me in the car but still thats not to bad considering the leather seat and my small 10 sub in the trunk.

I weighed my car once and it came to 3145. Leather seats + some mods and bigger rims.

These cars are heavier than I thought, I was figuring somewhere closer to 2800-2900 lbs without driver. Anybody know the numbers for the N/T?

There is a big scale around here somewhere that you can drive up on it and it will tell you what your car weighs...my dad was telling me about it and he drove his Mini Cooper out there...so I may just have to make a trip to see what it says...

That was a good find. I am going to take mine to the recylcing center when it gets rolling. I have always heard that 1g AWD's are between 3100-3300 so I sorta assumed 3200. My goal has always been to get the car down to below 3000. Well, that wont be hard at all. What you think guys, think I can hit 2700? ;) (I dont)

I've always wondered that too. I mean Integras have leather seats too (some of them) and are about the same size yet weigh hundreds less. How much could leather weigh anyway; I don't know about you but I don't think my skin weighs that much. I'm pretty sure Mitsu injected lead into the chassis.

I think because of all the AWD components. I know Subarus are at about the same weight too.

Ya he's right. I mean once you factor in all the extra parts awd cars have and need you know that must add alot of weight. I also read somewhere 2G eclipse RS's weigh 200lbs less than a 2G gsx

Still, a mustang is RWD it has a drive train and all that such as well and it's even a larger car dimensionally and about the same weight.


I can understand an AWD car being heavier than a FWD car.

Like many things on the DSM, I bet the frame was over-engineered. Thats why you take out things put in there for pussies like interior, AC, the heater, sound systems, and seats. Just sit on a milk crate, listen to your iPod, and cool down with a hand held fan and you can have Integra weight. :p

i don't see what all this hustle and bustle is about our cars are still 99% of the time faster than whatever we come up agains (from a dig) that I don't care what they weigh is how they PLAY

We have a truck scale in town that weighs down to the exact pound, when I get the Talon running, I'm going to take it over there completely stock, and then take it over there with all my mods and see what the difference is.....that is, if the truck scale is still open in 40 years. :rolleyes:

I've been told my (FWD) was a/b 25-2700... that's with the A/C, rear interior, CC, PS, and shit stripped out...

I think there was someone who got their car to a/b 2k... don't quote me on that though... I can't recall who it was...

my first gen neon weighs 3400lbs, and that's about the same size as an eclipse. integra's weigh so little b/c they rnt made of an average sheet metal, they were made to b in a race class, they did pretty well.
acura figured the lighter the car the better it is, and it's true and everyone knows it.
also my stealth tt, is 3800lbs, and thats awd, awd will wiegh more than a rwd or fwd car, theres a lot more shit to it. i can see an eclipse weighing about 3g, tho it's ahard to believe a mustang gt weighs that little, i'm pretty sure they r heavier like 3500lbs. look at the corvette, 500hp and it weights 3000lbs. the new 399gtb from ferrari weighs 2500lbs, its made completely out of carbon fiber and fiberglass, except the trans and engine, and even those are some kinda light weight metal, it was on some show. the sader part of that, the eng weight 500lbs.

I think I heard Shep's weighs 2600 with him in it. It all depends on all the shit you want to take out. Going tube frame, lexan windows, no interior, no AC, heat, fuel cell, smaller battery, etc, etc will allow you to cut massive amounts of weight.
