what is a V6. is it a 6cyl. if so are 4cyls' V4s'

V6 = a 6 cylinder engine that seperated into a "V" formation. Meaning there's 2 banks with 3 cylinders.
Same goes with V8's, V10's, and V12's. 2 cylinder banks with the cylidners seperated equally.
Although there have been V4's in the past, those were a long time ago. These days, most of the time, if a car has 4 cylinders, its in a straight line. Its called a Inline 4, which has only one cylinder bank. Let me know if you need pics.
