Went to replace factory T.B. with a Granatelli T.B. didn't work,re- installed factory T.B. & now get the "Engine Safe Mode" message, have tried disconnecting battery to reprogram, didn't work. Has anyone had this problem? If so any solutions? Thanks.

What was wrong with the Granatelli T.B., why didnt it work? Sounds like you may have put the T.B. in incorrectly.

Aftermarket throttle bodies are crap for our cars, I've heard nothing but bad things about them, and the identical problems occuring. If you modify any of the intake you have to run a tune with it, the computer will go into fail-safe mode, so that may have been another reason for your problem. As far as the car staying in fail-safe mode even when you put the stock TB back on, it sounds like you may have a loose connection or you may need to leave the battery cable off for a bit longer when you reset it.

Thats weird, cause ive never had a problem with aftermarket TB's. Sometimes it helps to have a spacer but other than that never had a problem.. Also, if you need help installing a TB, then you might wanna follow the Install Directions that come with it :P

check into what sensors are "secretly" tied in to the facotry tb dodge and chevy in particular are notorious for tying in 3 or 4 sensors into the tb, thus making it very hard to change by yourself, and there for must go "play the fool and go their very professional very polite and reaonsably priced dealerships" to have this done cough* cough*............................which of course is BS but none the less look into it. i rencently played this game with my my friends trailblazer SS.......sigh...what a waste of time it didn't help that much when i was done. anyway good luck

Well, I imagine that if its a trailblazer SS it was also under warrenty..(seeing that the SS's werent availible till last year.) meaning *cough *cough its free. I happen to work at a dealership (Ford mind you, i can't stand chevys) and i absolutly hate it when people knock dealerships. Its not true that we're all theives. I have to make a living just live everyone else. I have never ever "smoked" a ticket or sold something that wasnt needed for the repair. And everybody thinks we are "overpriced" or "non-professional" but hey buddy, take your hard earned investment and have some "wagner" or some other pep-boys special parts installed on it. Its all the same as Ford OEM replacement parts right. I am right or am i wrong.. seriously?

And I'm no drivability tech but last time i checked mustang TB's have all of i think one or two sensors.

I guess when dealerships charge $40 for an oil change its worth it right? Or that $80/hr labor charge.......Unless warranty work is being performed you couldnt pay me to take my car to a dealership.

please don't get me wrong i work at a dealership too it may be a chevy dealership but....mind you i used to wear my ford hat in the shop hehe...... anyway no my friend replaced the TB in his SS and we had to get 2 different ones because they did not cover all the sensors that were tied into the factory setup. anyway i do not think they are all crooks but i know my dealership charges higher than most places in town, however we do the work properly and we can almost guarantee that your vehicle can get in and out the same day you bring it to us, so i say its worth the price to some poeple. anway its all a matter of preference for most people i luv my fords and i don't like having work done at dealerships......irony i work for a dealership and its a chevy....what ya gonna do?:disappoin :screwy:
