This car was bought in June of 06 and we have had no issues. Today while I was driving the car it simple went dead. Like when the electronic ignition fails. I disconnected the Positve cable and waited 5+ minutes and reconnect and car started. An hour or so late it went dead again and remains that way Could the computer be failing and putting electonics in a safe mode and not allowing to start? The car is my sons and this Marine wants his car back.
Thanks

Is it throwing any codes? It's definitely electrical though if it just cut out. When you try and start it does it turn over or anything?

i had this same problem with a 98, it was the ignition module. about $70 and not hard to change...
i had gotten the spark plugs changed about 2 or 3 weeks earlier, then it it just shut down going down the road, it cranked once after messing with the spark plug wires and made it to the store and back and never cranked up again, about 3 months later, i changed the ignition module and it cranked right up...just an idea, im no mechanic

Does your car have the transponder key. On my 94 the wire that goes to the lock cylinder had a bad connection. I replaced that and it was fixed. The car would start when it wanted to very un predictable.
