My 17 year old son was mud riding tonight and he has a 1990 f-250 with a hyd. clutch. he was pulling a guy out and his truck just quit pulling when i got over there. i seen some fluid on the ground i'm guessing from the slave unit. i am wandering if the clutch went out are did he tare up the tranny? clutch has no preasure, goes in all gears fine just want pull are move. thanks for any help. i sure hope its just the clutch, Thanks again............ realy nice site

Usually you can feel hear or feel a transmission going out. Repair the clutch and clutch master and slave. Ask a good clutch rebuilder to build up the clutch for a mud runner. They usually will turn the flywheel for free if you buy the parts from them. Buy a new small pump oil can and use a rubber hose and pump brake fluid from the bottom until it runs out the top and then bleed.
Don't use an old one thats had oil in it. And clean the new one with brake clean.

When the clutch slave cylinder goes or the hydraulics leak, the clutch will stay in the engaged position, not the disengaged! So you can at least bet on replacing the clutch and say a prayer for the tranny.
