I've got my engine torn down to the block right now (head gaskets) and was wanting some ideas as to what cheap upgrades I could ad. With a wife and kids I'm not exactly rolling in the doe, so a better question would be....were or what would I upgrade first for improved Hp and torque?

My suggestion would be exhaust (Shorty Headers: $380, High Flow Cats $800, Cat Back Exhaust: $500) and then intake (Air Intake: $250, Mass Air flow Sensor: $380, Larger Throttle Body: $450) and internals (Taller Roller Rocker Arms: $600)

These are fairly basic bolt-on type things, and since you engines torn apart roller rockers might not be a bad idea right now. Always do exhaust before intake if you work in stages because you can't cram more air in if its leaving just the same. Also, you can prolly find these parts a lot cheaper then this, his is just so you can get a basic idea of pricing. Im not sure what the total gains would be from this, all I have some exhaust work done and an intake and I had serious non-stock related problems so my difference was night and day. Honesty, if you shopped around you should be able to do full exhaust and intake for $1000 on each end, and prolly rocker arms for $400.

put a bigger cam in it. know on the older models you can put the LT1 camshaft in for a little upgrade. Try a LT4 Hot Cam with 1.6 rockers, she will screem then!
