m3 RUNNING ROUGH

hELLO,

I have a low mileage 96 M3 that runs excellent. However, in the morning it runs really rough for about 4 minutes at idle. Infact, if I let it idle before I drive off everything is OK. But, if I turn on the defroster or roll down the windows or step on the gas before it has idle'd down it runs like crap until I hit the road and blow it out. Does the M3 run rough, is it BMW's? or do I have an issue? Thanks!

well...

could it possibly be ur battery running low on amperage?
because if ur starter is requiring extra amperage and u dont quite get that normal start from ur battery, that might be the problem that is making ur engine idle harder...

i would say ur problem of idling hard has something to do with the electrical system and the computer that controls the idle...

might wanna get an OBDII diagnostic computer and delve in further?

I've noticed that certain brands of gasoline cause my M3 to run rough on start as well (Texaco for instance). Switching brands of gas completely eliminates the problem. Not sure what the difference in the gas is, but I've repeated the test twice and it is definitely the change in gas that affects the performance on start.
