Ok so pardon my enthusiasm but I really wanted to share this story, and Ill try to keep it short:
For about a month or two I have been looking for a second job, since I am getting roughly 12 hours a week at my current job. I interviewed at another school and got denied, and I put in an app at a couple of retailers, with no call.
So about 3 weeks ago one of my neighbors said to come work for him. Hes a manager at CompUSA. I have been thinking about it for a while, ya know, how I would like working for my friend. We have talked about it constantly, and finally, yesterday he convinced me that it would be stupid not to. Good pay, flexible hours, and a great environment.
So today I submitted an online application and started getting ready to clean my place a bit. This is where it gets kind of exciting. With no exaggeration whatsover, I tell you that in less than TEN minutes, a manager at CompUSA called me and set up an interview for this saturday. I have never heard back from a potential employer in less than 3 days, so ten minutes just floored me.
Suffice it to say, unlike my last interview, I feel really good about this one. So I just had to share.

Congrats! It's always nice when they call you back real fast, I've never gotten called back THAT fast though.

I'd say go for it.
If they called you that fast who knows how fast there work deadlines are...

Have you ever tried calling the place yourself a day or two after submitting an application? Employers really enjoy that enthusiasm.

yeah, definitely thank them for their quick response. Honestly, i've never heard back from an employer, i'd always have to "check back in" after a couple days and then the manager present would usually set up an interview.

They usually call me and let me know that they DON'T want me for the job really quick and take forever to let me know they're interested....kinda messed up....

Lucky for you.
Here in NZ they hardly ever call you back/let you know you don't have the job.
I applied for about 8 jobs and only one emailed me back saying they had no positions.
