whats the need for the honey comb thing

:confused: i don't understand the whole honey comb thing on the air intake to the throttle body and i what to know if i can take it out will i gain hp by doing so

THIs device ensures laminar air flow before the Mass Air FLow sensor. THIs makes the metering more precise and stable and the honeycomb is said to offer virtually no significant flow restriction. In fact the size of intake might be adjusted to compensate for any loss that might occur.

"An airflow treatment and regulation device for internal combustion engines that stabilizes inlet airflow characteristics before induction into a fuel metering and mixing device. The air stabilization device provides a non-restrictive honeycomb treatment element through which inlet combustion air must pass before entering throttle body. Not to mention keeps any crap out of the engine, for those who forget to put an air cleaner in there.:lol:

LMP, nicely done, this should be required reading for all the would be " hot rodders" who insist on removing the screen!

thank u LMP for telling me this one of my friends told me that by taking it out u gain hp do u know any way to boost the hp with out change to a supercharger lol

removing the screen could potentionally cause poor performance instead of a performance gain.

Intense sells fender well intakes. This fwi will give you a very small upgrade in performance.
