DON'T DO IT! cheap springs are only around $100

don't fucking go ghetto and cut your damn springs. you get shitty ride, ruin your shocks, and you have to live with knowing that you cut your springs.

Why don't you just buy some Drop Zone Coilovers, I found a place on the net that sells them for $69.99. They should be good enough until you save enough for something alot better.

definetly go for a cheap set of coilovers or spring over cutting them. I cut my springs cause i really wanted to lower my car. The ride was sooooooo bad, i would never recommend them to anyone. Even a bouncy set of cheap coilovers will have a better ride than cut springs.

Ahhh... the IQ distribution line was nerfed when you were born right? :p

The second you cut those springs, you change the way in which they are matched to the shocks, instantly destroying the ride characteristics necessary for proper handling. Further, you run the risk of popping a spring off it's perch as it may no longer be held in place on full rebound.

Go buy some properly wound springs with matched shocks or at least get lowered springs that maintain the same ratio as the originals.

Play it safe, not stupid :)

those dropzone coilovers really suprised me! i bought a pair because i was cheap and put them on tokico blues that i got for 100 used and i get a pretty good ride! i know my handling would be better it i bought better shocks but these will do it for me until i bag my suspension

that 69.99 price....is that for 1 coilover? or the set of 4???? cause no where on that page does say that it comes in a set of 4 and the picture only shows 1 coilover?????????,,,,,,and if i get that whats the lowest i should go without changing anything else....shocks, struts etc.????? i just got new shocks 2 months ago, would that help or does it have to be performance shocks??

You could probably lower about 2" and still have the springs captive. Ride is crap though, so if you are only after looks then i'd cut about 3 coils off. Use an angle grinder, not a gas axe.

Not that i'm advocating this in any way!!!!;)

Well it turns out that the turbo needs reconditioning and I lent the intercooler to a mate and haven't got it back yet. Also there is a B16A coming up for sale with a turbo kit (Garret T28 ball bearing), custom manifold and dump pipe, all piping, extra injector etc, for $3000NZ..i'm considering that...although i'm semi thinking that perhaps I should just stick to the original plan and turbo the ZC.

What do you think?

About how much is 3000NZ in American? I say if you have the money go with the b16 turbo plan. If not definately turbo the zc, it's a great motor to turbo! just don't blow either of them. hehe
