can i put a 1985 tranny in a 1990. I know i hafta change the shift linkage hook up and a couple other little things, but will everything else work?

WARNING!!! Customers have stated that vehicles thru '85 & from '86 (longer) have approximately 1-1/2" length difference from end of trans. to rear axle.
