1989 Buick LeSabre T Type, 4t60 trans
Hello. I've been doing some research into a code 39 I've had on my trans for almost a year now. I've eliminated the ECM, wiring, and anything else that would trigger it (FSMs are great :D) so I'm down to the solenoid itself.
I know I have to remove the side pan of the trans. This involves removal of the halfshaft and anything else that would be in the way which is not a problem for me as I've done it several times. However, what I'm not sure about is whether or not the side pan will have enough clearance while in the engine bay to get it out of the way??? I really really dont want to have to pull the motor to get at this but if that is what it takes then so be it.
It would be great to know that removal of the side pan whilst in the engine bay is possible or not before I start working on it! Thanks!
