The dash lights and the heater ac controls do not work at all. The tail lights are fine and the marker lights all work. When you use the e brake the headlights will shut off like they are supposed to. At night the head lights just stay on unless the e break is pressed but you have to turn off the ignition key to get them to turn off and restart the car. Could this be caused by the ignition switch? What else could it be. Any help would be apreciated.

Welcome to AF !
Sounds more like a body control module(bcm) malfunction.
Are you getting any SES or SVS lights on?
If so get it scanned with a scanner that can scan the BCM.

Im not getting any warning lights if that is what you mean but now the daytime running lights do not work. I checked the ambient light sensor and it works. i just covered it and it does turn the lights on automaticaly.

Thier is a DRL relay under the hood might check that on the DRLs. I wouls also check all the other fuses/relays as they can go bad and some comtrol your HVAC and dash lighting.
But your dash issues, you might consider a trip to the stealerships for assistance on this one.

Thank you for your help. I have a vom i do not know how to ck the relay i have moved to change spots to see if it affects something else and that does not affect it. i found out today on when it is in park the headlights are off and when you put it into gear they go on.

the dashboard light issue might be caused by a faulty dimmer switch
mines is apparently bad since i had a tail light fuse blow out on my 01'
no dash lights at all
fixed tail lights but dash lights did not repair
ended up bypassing the dimmer switch (above the cupholder) with a patchline from one of the 12v feeder wires
it's tricky getting the dash apart to do this but worth it to have my lights back

That is happenning to me right now, I would like to know exactly which wires to cut, to bypass, especially the one's from the gauges. The only light that turn on is the PRN321 , because with the bad dimmer(that's what i think is faulty) the lights apper to be with the dimmer in the lowest setting. Already check all the fuses, still have the problem. Could you help me with it?

Last night I dismount the gauges, dimmer, radio A/C cover, glove box to try what astrosurfer suggested, with a voltage meter I checked for the 12v line that goes into the dimmer via a plug. The brown like astro said has 12v with the lights on and 0v with them off. This wire was patched with the dark green wire that also goes into the dimmer plug to see if the dash lights works, but they didn't. I think is posible that the dimmer control module has gone bad so, then I cutted the brown wire and connected it with a new wire of my own wired through the dash behind the gauges , all the way to the right fuse panel box located between the right door and the dash. The upper right fuse (10A) is the intrument panel fuse. I connected the fuse with the new wire and finally the dash lights turned on!!! After almost 2 years without them.
