Well, I am new to the 'modeling' scene and picked up a revell Integra Type R kit, and an AMT 86' Chevy El Camino kit. I got a set of 'testors' enamel paint and it came with a brush. I know I am going to have a lot of questions, but for now, should I assemble/glue the engine and then paint it? Or paint before I assemble? btw, I am using plastic cement. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Welcome! I’m also new to car modelling. I’m working on my first kit at the moment too (R32 GTR).
With regards to your question. I painted the various bits of the engine and glued bit by bit. I basically followed the directions in the kit word for word.

Thank you for the response :) I started gluding the motor together, and the main pieces that aren't too detailed I am going to paint already glued, however the more detailed parts (like the valve cover) I am painting then assembling. I am trying to save up for an air brush, because I am not too swift with paint brushes and am having probs with em ;)

Thank you all for the welcome :) I read the faq last night, and have found lots of useful information. I am having a problem glueing some stuff on the Integra Type R model because I have big hands, but I think I heard somewhere you can use a toothpick or something to glue.. I don't know, I am new to all of this ;)

Welcome along to AF.
Yip...a tooth pick is the way to go when glueing small bits.
