This Astro recently had front-end damage that has been fixed. Coincidence or not, now there is a vibration when you start from a complete stop for about a second or two. The faster you take off, the worse and longer it is. Is it the rear end, drive shaft, or tranny? Help!

1. Could be.
2. Possibly.
3. Maybe
You'll really have to get under it and start looking. I'd consider the driveshaft last, but inpect the universals just in case. I'd be more suspicious of a transmission mount or spring bushing.

I have an '83 chevy truck that the automatic was pulled out of. A car 3 speed was put in it. It shuddered from a dead stop. The problem was too small pilot shaft. Replaced the pilot bearing, all is good. Just something to get you thinking. That would be really wierd for the pilot shaft or bearing to be messed up.
