96 villager whining noise from motor

makes whining noise when at idol and while moving, just started.

Probably time for new motor and transmission mounts.

Daughters van squells also untill she starts down the road. Then it stops. Replaced belts,steering pump,and water pump.Thought it might be the ac clutch.How does motor monts cause it to squell? Never considered that as a possible cause...Thanks, will check them out...

This is a old thread but that is a good question why the motor mounts would cause the squealling? DOUGLASNC, did you replace the belts or the power steering pump and water pump?? Have you removed each drive belt one at a time hopefully you can isolate where is is at. (With the AC belt off should tell you if it is in the AC clutch. The only other thing I can think of is ythe tensioner pulley for the timing belt, but that shouldn't stop squelling when begining to drive. How many miles on it??
