Model Masters Metalizer buffing techniques?

I was given advice and decided to try Model Masters Metalizers for my DeLorean model to get the real stainless steel look. I followed the directions (wait an hour and buff) but I don't like the result I got. I think it's my buffing technique. I used a soft paper-towel. Is there anything (household items please, as I am a poor college student) that would provide more satisfying results? I think I'm going to spray another coat of silver on if I get some good answers. Thanks guys!

PS: I already looked in both FAQs and ScaleWiki. Nada.

Whoa! To me, a paper towel is way too coarse.:nono:

In the past, I've used polishing cloths or shoe shine clothes with success. Now I use Microfiber towels. Uniform pressure is the key.:2cents:

When I did my delorean, I used an old sock to buff it. You didn't clear coat it did you? And what result were you looking for? It's not exactly going to have a chrome sheen to it when done. Just like shiny metal. I wish I knew where my kit was so I could get pics for you.

Cotton balls would probably work. Even an old T-shirt will work, just make sure it's something soft and without any rough edges or surfaces to scratch.

Remember, buffing is just another way of saying polishing.
