I would like to do a 2 inch body lift.. 1994 Jimmy I see alot of kits and such out there. Anyone knows a home remedy for a lift other than paying $100-$150 for the kit, ALSO is it very difficult?

i've seen people use hockey pucks  . instalation cost is gonna be higher than the price of the lift itself.

the only problem ive found with using pucks is they cracked after a short period of time, i have a 1989 jimmy that i use on the farm, on mine i used 3"x3" square tubing with a hole drilled in the middle. i just unbolted the body mounts (i think there were 8 of them) and put the blocks in... the hardest part about the lift was finding bolts that were long enought, because they are metric bolts... dont go anymore then 3 inches, because the shaft that goes from your steering wheel to the steering box (the slip yoke if thats what u can call it) bottoms out. also your brake lines that go from your master cylinder to the frame are coiled so i just carefully stretched the coils out. part of your fan shroud has to be cut because ur rad is bolted to the body and your engine is bolted to the frame(not trying to be an ass but just in case you didnt know) the only problem i had was the 4x4 quit workin, i think just one of the vaccum lines pulled off, not sure havent used it since the fall,.. other then that it was super easy. in total i think i spent $20 on the bolts and i found the metal lying around.. so it was really cheap... keep in mind i only use this on trails and on the farm so it might not be the best aproach.. hasnt failled me yet and ive jumped it a few feet in the air several times and took it on swoops.. ill post pictures as soon as i figure out how to post them....( it keeps saying i dont have permission to post in member galleries.. dammit)
