Can the IAC just wear out?
A few months ago I posted because my 2000 GTP 2 dr. coupe with 140,000 was stalling as you would come to a stop and if it did not stall it would have an erratic idle. After stalling it would refire immediately and run fine until you came to another stop sign or red light.
I was advised the problem was most likely the IAC. rather than replace it I removed it from the TB and cleaned it as several here on the forum advised. That seemed to cure the problem until recently.
Do these things just wear out?
I can remove it and reclean but I find it hard to believe it has gotten cruddy this soon.
Most likely I will go down and buy a new IAC to install, they aren't that expensive.
Any other thoughts that may remedy this issue?

I would replace the IAC valve since prior cleaning had some effect. Other than the mechancal part maybe the electrical part is flaky. Improper IAC counts feedback to the PCM module. Good luck.
