about a month ago the drivers side headlight was out and after looking at it, there was a bunch of water in. so i drilled a couple hole in the bottom so water could get out if it ever gets in there again. well the bulb is out again and have no idea why. i did caulk up the holes that i made before and any open seams along the fixture. anyone else have this issue?

These headlamp capsules are a pain on these vans. I've had to "repair" them on both my Venture vans in the past, ( I can't even go through an automatic car wash without having the lenses fly off.) There are many reasons why the light may have gone out a second time, and it may not even been moisture related. Some reasons are: 1) any oil or foreign material on the glass bulb can shorten it's life. When handling the bulb during replacement, wear gloves or something that prevents skin contact and transfer of body oils. If you do get something on the bulb, gently clean it with a tissue and rubbing alcohol. 2)The bulb may have been faulty right out of the package. I've seen it happen before where a new headlight was put in and it blew within a few days. I seem to remember a few years back in the shop where I was working. There was an issue with a bad "lot" of bulbs that came from the factory and were eventually recalled.3) Check for loose wiring or cuts/breaks in the wiring. Those are a few things to quickly check if you suspect moisture is not causing the bulb to blow this time around after doing the repair.
