I know nothing about this car, as I am more into imports, and this is my moms car. I like how it moves faster than my car, but I was just wondering if a Domestic Auto was worth making faster, since making an import auto fast is pretty much useless.
So I was wondering, is it worth making faster? And what are the few things that I have to do to get some reasonably good response. How is that computer you plug in and it reprogramms the ECU?

Anautomatic 4l60 is8 times out of10 Faster than the 6 speed and this is officially proven..put aTC inand itwill winalthe time
everyone think 6m are faster.. try modulating that kind of tq off the line funy same topend and fewer shift logic should telyou something and same 0-100 actually the auto is faster
R& T race a rag topauto Z28 vsa6 speed rag tp ws6 identicltimesin the quarter but the 305hp z w 323 gear was quick to 60 and 100 than the342 geared ws6 the Ws6won the 1/4by.1

no human can outsfit( shitfaster)
than a computer.. think push in Clutch moved gear shiftert intoprper gearthen let out the clutch
cost you a tenth easily..no so with an auto w/shiftkit movelever up 1/4" and bam instantly into nextgear .005 time lost multiply by 3-4 that 4/10 from just shifting and thats an excellent driver

Yeah i should lay off the sauce but why not explain it to me.. i had a 00 Ws6 automatic with a midwest 3200 stall a2.5 Str a transgo and nitto drag radials.. my first stock run was 13.18
i opened up the baffle to the ram air and aded a cutout.. basic breating 101.. my time dropped to 12.87
then i added all those tranny mods
boom 12.19.. as you were saying??
and i'l raced 125 shot nitroused 6 speeds at this time and beat them badly nthe 1/8 then they do makee up a sme distance but its over well b4 they are close
and ther was the test withthe f bods.. and 8out of 10 had the stock auto over the 6 speed .. its hard t modulate the real 370 ft.lbs bnot the advertised350
Gm has honed ht 4l60e.. you actually think a humanca outshift a microprecessor signal? c'mon.. these ren't truck tranny's.. the only ford tanny worth a damn is the one in the Lightning.. it should have been used for the Cobra s/c.. when averageg against an Auto Ws6 not a 6 speed SS the S/c cobra afte 10 runs amazingly average.1 less making the Ls1 still the raining king
Thesea are fact fro pontiac performance magazine as well as pontiac enthusiast.. didn'tanyone think it was strange theyalways pick the ccool air inducted SS and not the ram air inducted Ws6 because its slower..as tested by a nuetral mag Pop mechanics in 99 the ss gave a great 13.5 the Ws6 did a 13.15 this is pre 01-02 were the Ls6 trickle down parts were used ..maifold cam profile exhaust.... check it out
anyways you can't prove i'm wrong.. the auto's always have done well for Gm look at the vette..even the grand prix GTP and regal Gs are rockects off the line.. gm make a well engineered fast shifting.. usually higher than normal stall auto.. though theve have been know to failon high ower.. heatis the cilprit and singt th design limits on't hlp.. they just mae them strrong enough to meet stock beating for 100k miles

iwasn't fighting.. jst trying to make a point .. with a stick yourupgrade is limited.. rear end gear and heavy duty clutch and drag radials or something sticky,.. the key to the Auo's superiority is the Torque Converter do you know what exactly a 3200 TC WITH a 2.5 2.7 STR most most know about the STR it is responsible for that huge tq spike in the begining of the dyno
peak torque of a LS1 is a supposed 350 at 4400 or 4000 i think 4000..
with an str that high when the car flash stals 3200 becomes 3600 if you power brake and the Tq at that point.. is ratioed with the Str number.. knw is not a direct 2.5 x X torque at 3600
i've seen something like 600 ft lbs on a dyno with a normall400 peaktorque engine.. thats a 1/3 increase in most of first gear.. making it a launch machine it traction and gearing is matchet not to blow the tires off.. i pain stakingly
using my dyno picked the corect stall point and probably a slightly higher Str but need BFG or Nitto's right after the Tranny shop installed it then the skiftkt enhanced the timeing ( a trango) the only one i reccomend gears and walla.. no six speedthat had previously beaten my i had a ss that took me by a car to 100.. i found exactled my revenge.. took him by six off the line he made up 1 car by 120.. he got spanked
