99 tracer broken timing belt

I have heard 2 different stories on broken timing belts. If my timing belt broke on my Tracer will the fix be as simple as installing a new timing belt or will I have to replace the valves and everything else?

Which motor do you have?

It depends if your motor is a non-interference motor. If it is not, then you will have chipped pistons and broken valves.
