My husband has a 1999 Grand Prix GT, I am not sure what the correct name is to call the part, but I call it the dummy info center located in the center of the dash above the radio. What I am wanting to know is there a bulb that can be replaced in that or does the whole peice need to be replaced? For the last 4 months it has been dim but if you hit the dash in just the right place it would go back bright again, but now it is completely dark, but the lights in the buttons still light like the reset, mode, all those, can anyone help or have any suggestions?? Thanks Much

thats a very common problem for the DIC's to do that on the grand prix's. They do have bulbs in the back that you can replace..But If it comes on when you hit it in a certain spot there could be a short somewhere too.

The DIC has a total of 5 background illumination lamps. Sylvania #24, OEM/GM DIC Lamp Part Number 16151234 or the ones specified in the old thread below will work. Also, there are a few solder joints on the DIC circuit board that can be redone in your case, otherwise you may have to replace the complete DIC unit.
