Taking stock of the past year: How did you do?

How good a modeling year was 2006 for you? How many new kits did you get? How many did you start? How many did you finish? Is your stash growing uncontrollably, or holding even? Is your bench looking more and more like a chop shop back alley, or are you finishing stuff and filling your display shelves?

I don't plan on changing anytime soon. I'm sure to add 3 per month and build at glacial pace.
I do however, love my hobby and wouldn't change it.

Plans for '07 more building less buying :iceslolan

this was my first full year modelling, having returned to the hobby in late 2005. :) i finished:
- Tamiya 1/20 BMW FW24 with about half of the SMS super detail kit.
- Monogram "Ultimates" 1/43 1967 Corvette 427 box stock with detailing.
- Monogram "Ultimates" 1/43 1963 Cobra 289 with some kitbashing and scratchbuilding.
And I'm just about done with an Italeri/Testors 1/24 Ferrari 288 GTO with some detailing.

My pile of kits had a heavy emphasis on 1/43, and I realized that's just too small, particularly when you're dealing with the Tameo superkits. :eek: So I sold almost the entire pile - eight kits in all -- in November. Two kits survived the culling:
- 1/20 Tamiya Ferrari F1-2000 with Perfect Parts wheels and SMS super detail kit.
- 1/24 Tamiya Ferrari F40.

I cleared the pile shortly after I broke my wrist and got laid up at home for 6 weeks. After selling all my Tameo kits, I discovered just how dangerous it is to be a modeler with a lot of spare time, access to eBay and too much money in a PayPal account. :lol: Within six weeks I bought: :screwy:
- 1/24 Tamiya Mercedes CLK-GTR with SMS super detail kit, S27 turned aluminum wheels and resin doors so I can open the cockpit.
- 1/24 Tamiya Ferrari 360 and MSM Challenge transkit (still waiting for StradaSports to send it though).
- 1/24 Italeri/Testors Ferrari 288 GTO I mentioned above.
- 1/20 Tamiya McLaren MP4/5B with S27 PE and Tabu decals.
- 1/20 Tamiya McLaren MP4/13 with SMS West decals.
- 1/12 Tamiya Ferrari 312T with S27 air funnels and Museum Collection decals, PE and turned aluminum wheels.
- 1/12 Tamiya Williams FW14B and, of course, Andy Mathews "ClearView" book. I've preordered the super detail kit Thunder Valley is releasing.

And floating around somewhere in the ether is a box containing a 1/24 Italeri Ferrari 250 GTO and a 1/24 Italeri Ferrari 365GTB Daytona competition that never arrived. :frown: Perhaps that is the High Goddess of Modeling telling me, "You have too damn many kits!" :lol:

My next project will be the MP4/13, which I'm going to build curbside so I can focus on body prep and decaling. I've tried to experiment with and improve one specific skill with each build after realizing that a full-detail FW24 with SMS super kit was not the best place to start. :rolleyes:

I managed to finish some old projects, though not as many as I'd have liked to.
Six finished models!
There are several well done projects that I just can't seem to get interested in again. I've got to try to finish one up and then start something both interesting and simple. Finishing a build by the end of Jan. would be a good goal.

2006 was a bad year for my closet space! In 2007 I plan on building more. :icon16:

last year havent been a good year for my and models, everything i get some monentum into a project, something will break....... but it has gone better towards the end of the year~ hope it continue into next year.....
