87 cherokee problem

hey i got an 87 cherokee laredo with the 4.0 in it. i recently did the fuel pump and when i wet to start it after i was done a wire melted i belive at the fusible link. i replaced that and it started up fine ran ok but then i let it sit outside a couple nights and came back to it and now it wont start. it is not getting fuel but you can hear the pump come on. i replaced the strainer and the fuel fillter with the pump so i doubt that could be a problem. i live in minnesota and its cold but not below freezing so i dont think a line could have froze but it has ben raining for that past couple days so something ight have gotten wet. any suggestions please let me know if i dont get it running soon i think i will just end up getting rid of the thing. Check fuel pressure first. Then check for spark.

there is no fuel presure there is spark though it is getting a tiny tiny bit of gas cause it will go to start but it will just spudder cause its not getting enough fuel. the pump is brand new and you can hear it turn on b ut then nothing.

i though forums like this were suposed to have people who knew there shit. i guess if your not asking about a honda in their forum you just cant gethelp oh well screw jeep anyway nothing but a big pile of wiring crap. they cant even make a wire that will hold up on the thing for 20 years ppppppppsssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttttttttt. am i kidding who knows hahahahahahahah. but seriously jeep smells

Ease up there some, hoss. Not everyone is on every day. There are a bunch of knowledgeable folks here, and you're not helping yourself by being abusive.

So...

No fuel pressure. Perhaps your pump was not the problem after all? How is the fuel filter, ever been replaced?

If you don't have pressure at the fuel rail, then trace back through the fuel system to find the blockage or malfunction.

You better recheck your fuel pump work then and get a pressure reading so people can have something to go by.

I am sorry, but a lot of people don't know much about the "old" models.
