I was just running back from Lowes a little bit ago in the rain. I had just washed my car yesterday and forgotten to put it the garage. So I drove it instead of my Jeep.
I was cruising up the road and I came up on a IS300 with 2 young guys driving. I was just checking out the car since I think they are sexy a** cars. I passed him up barely at the speed limit of 50 mph. All of a sudden this guy comes flying passed me. I started to give chase then I thought of the rain and let off. I ended up right behind them at the light and they were in front.
The light goes green and that guy was in it from the get-go. He hooked up real well, I on the the other hand got no traction till about 35-40mph when he has a couple cars on me. I never went WOT maybe 3/4 throttle and I was starting to catch up to him. I got scared though cause of the rain and let off at about 60-65mph. He kept going , prolly let off around 80-90 I would guess.
I ended up right next to them at a few lights down and I went to put my finger on the window button. I looked over at them to give'em props and to ask them what they thought if it would have been dry out. They both looked straight ahead with a grin and they were eating peanuts, poppin'em in there mouth's like M&M's. They got me and they knew it....It was pretty fun allthough it could have been better if it were dry..
HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE...dont drink and drive, let someone else do it instead...j/k...be safe

yea, i'd be the crazy one to floor it in the rain, as i care less for weather. i'm the one passing everyone in the snow, keeping the auto gear in '2' so i get maximum traction because of no gear changing. yet when a turn comes i'll slow down early lol. nice run i guess. the tcs would keep you from slipping too much if you're just going straight, but it's your call.

I think I was more worried about my stopping distance at the higher speeds while wet. Other than that I have been on the look out for another IS300. Kinda want to redeem myself...

Is your GTP stock? You should be able to take a N/A Is300 either way. They usually run like mid-low 15's in the 1/4 mile.....

yes its stock for now. I just bought it about 2 months ago. I ran 14.8@91 mph at the track on my second run. I had only drove the the car a couple times by time I hit the track.
I should have my cai and u-bend delete by time I hit the track next season. I think I can get my time down better now...
